Brisbane

I went home for the Australia Day long weekend and had a great time seeing my family!

I was feeling overwhelmed with the traffic! We went to dreamworld and on the 4 lane highway every lane had cars in it...too busy for this laid back girl!!! ;)

I got to see my little baby....she was all sooky and wanted cuddles, she is not normally a cuddly dog. (Note the hat).





We had fun at dreamworld however I am not made for rides. Georgie loved the chair-o-planes however I couldn't wait to get off!!








Like a good little girl G pushed one of the koalas in the face after the photo.

Floods

We moved to the tropics why?

It has been raining non stop for the past few days and I have come across some new road signs....ones I don't want to see!

Its a bit exciting but scarey at the same time. I hate being at work when its like this plus we lost power 4 times today.

It should all be over and done with in a few days though...I hope...

The Strand

Umm

Its been a long time between posts, with Christmas and the New Year and now being back at work we have been rather busy. So busy in fact we have done nothing of particular importance and well, it feels pretty good.

The Christmas weather wasn't too bad, Christmas day was sunny and hot and then for the remainder of the holiday period it pretty much rained. One night night it was quite cool, the doona may have even made an appearance.

Aka had a great time and enjoyed the company of Issy....



Pari, well he wasn't impressed with our Christmas tree...or perhaps it had something to do with the raindeer costume?



We also become that little bit more domesticated...mowing is not fun.



Our New Year was as always low key, kiddie fire works on tv and then in bed by 10pm - perfect!!!

Long Island Ice what?

Another big night out in TSV. We are going crazy, staying out till all hours [9:10pm - Cripes!!]

We have our good friend Drew visiting so we went out for dinner. We ended up at a place called Cactus Jacks and when Drew ordered a Long Island Ice Tea I couldn't help myself. I have a new favourite drink....Nyron - remember this for when we visit ok?? :)

Stacks McBooth

One of my favourite events to watch in Brisbane is the South Bank Grand Prix / Criterium Championships - its great being able to cheer on Adrian and he did pretty well even after a crash! . Obviously we were not able to go this year :(

Things to do on a hot day #20

Go and check out display homes! They have the air con blasting and on the weekends the sales people don't want to work, they sit at their desk and don't move - its great!

Movember

Justin took part in Movember and was in a QLD Health team called Hairy-Carditis (ICTAI). They were a pretty slack team and didn't even register on the website, however they raised about $500 and scored a feature in the QLD Health News Letter. Justin had the lead role in the photo (and didn't we get a big head!).

On the last day we went to a Movember party in the City which was fun, they had lots of prizes for 'Slow Mo', 'Man of Movember' (J should have got this but they gave it to the event organiser - talk about rigged) and 'Mo Sister' (this went to the event organisers wife - ICTAI!!!!).
